Toronto’s Nancy
Dutra hosts a soul that floated northward from Austin or Nashville or Memphis
in the 1970’s, and settled in the warmest body, with the tenderest
heart it could find. With a guitar gently strapped over a flowing dress,
Nancy gently clip-clops up the stage steps in her favourite pair of cowboy
boots, and wins the crowd over with a smile that could only be described
as astonishing. Moments later, the voice completes the experience: smoky-pure,
summoned from beyond. Topped with a Reso-Phonic guitar, or coaxed with a
sweet Dobro, the music is genuine country, with lyrics that awaken your spirit.
